Brie, Apple and Cranberry Grilled Cheese

Description

A delicious twist on a classic grilled cheese, featuring creamy Brie, crisp apples, and tart cranberry sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 oz (approximately 113g) of Brie cheese, thinly sliced
  • 1 small Granny Smith apple, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean work surface.
  4. Layer Brie cheese evenly on the unbuttered sides of the two bread slices.
  5. Add a layer of apple slices over the Brie cheese.
  6. Spread cranberry sauce on the unbuttered side of the remaining two slices of bread.
  7. Place the cranberry-side down on top of the apples to create a sandwich.
  8. Transfer the sandwiches to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  9. Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, and slice in half before serving.

Notes

For a different flavor, try substituting the Brie with gouda. These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh.
