Description

A delightful combination of spicy warmth and sweet crunch, perfect for sharing during holidays or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1–2 teaspoons cinnamon oil
  • Red food coloring
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and immediately add cinnamon oil and a few drops of red food coloring. Stir quickly.
  5. Carefully pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and let it cool until soft.
  6. Once cool enough to handle, pull and stretch the candy to make it glossy and thin.
  7. Cut into bite-sized pieces and dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  8. Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.

Notes

Ensure your cookware is clean to avoid crystallizing. Work quickly when adding cinnamon oil and coloring.
