- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1–2 teaspoons cinnamon oil
- Red food coloring
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until well mixed.
- Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and immediately add cinnamon oil and a few drops of red food coloring. Stir quickly.
- Carefully pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and let it cool until soft.
- Once cool enough to handle, pull and stretch the candy to make it glossy and thin.
- Cut into bite-sized pieces and dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
- Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
