Description

These decadent Cinnamon Roll Bliss Bars bring the comforting aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls into bar form, with a soft, gooey center and a cinnamon-swirled topping that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add cubed cold butter to the dry ingredients and mix until coarse crumbs form. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Spread half of the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  4. Dollop the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. Swirl the layers together with a knife.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Test with a toothpick until it comes out clean.
  6. For frosting, beat cream cheese and softened butter until creamy. Mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust with more milk if necessary.
  7. Spread cream cheese frosting over cooled bars and drizzle with melted butter or extra cinnamon-sugar.
  8. Slice into squares, serve, and enjoy.

Notes

For dairy-free options, use almond milk instead of buttermilk and vegan butter. For gluten-free bars, substitute all-purpose flour with coconut flour.
