  • ½ cup cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 2 â…“ cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 23 tablespoons whole milk
  • Crushed peppermint candy (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt ½ cup salted butter until smooth and stir in light brown sugar.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the peppermint extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, cornstarch, and baking powder in a separate bowl, then fold into wet mixture.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips, saving a few for topping.
  6. Spoon batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface. Bake for about 30 minutes.
  7. Let brownies cool completely before frosting with a mixture of melted butter, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk.
  8. Top with crushed peppermint candy and enjoy!
