Delightful sausage rolls with a rich, flavorful filling of pork mince and French onion soup mix, all wrapped in golden, flaky pastry.

- 1 lb (450g) pork mince (ground pork)
- 1 packet French onion soup mix (or 1 cup sautéed onions + 1 tsp onion powder)
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed if frozen
- 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
- Cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley)
- Chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the pork mince, French onion soup mix, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and cracked black pepper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them in half lengthwise. Place filling along one edge of each half and roll tightly.
- Seal the edges using a little water or egg wash.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg and milk mixture.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
These sausage rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
