A luxurious twist on the classic mac and cheese featuring creamy Boursin cheese.
Ingredients

- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz garlic and herbs Boursin cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until pale.
- Slowly add the milk and cream, whisking to remove lumps.
- Once thickened, stir in the Boursin cheese until melted.
- Add the cheddar and Parmesan, stirring until fully melted.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce and mix until well-coated.
- For a baked version, preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs and extra cheese, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Notes
For added texture, mix panko breadcrumbs with herbs for the topping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
