Description

A luxurious twist on the classic mac and cheese featuring creamy Boursin cheese.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz garlic and herbs Boursin cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until pale.
  3. Slowly add the milk and cream, whisking to remove lumps.
  4. Once thickened, stir in the Boursin cheese until melted.
  5. Add the cheddar and Parmesan, stirring until fully melted.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce and mix until well-coated.
  8. For a baked version, preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs and extra cheese, and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Notes

For added texture, mix panko breadcrumbs with herbs for the topping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
